Please remember the valuable Renaissance Home Connect features:

Renaissance Learning's Home Connect feature is available to MPS stakeholders. This feature allows school administrators and teachers to provide parental access to review student progress in the Accelerated Reader Program. Once implemented at your school, students and parents will have the ability to review reading practice goals and progress (AR quizzes), history of books read, and results of Vocabulary Practice Quizzes as well as access to Math Facts in a Flash (once the first activity has been completed at school). This online resource will also provide a link to AR BookFinder, an online search tool for locating AR book titles and allow parents to receive email notifications at home or at work when their child has completed an AR quiz. Click here for more information.

(The following information was provided by Debbie Hux, former MPS Renaissance consultant.)

Research shows when families are involved, students do better in school and throughout life. The highest achievement results occur when the focus of school involvement is on the development of the student's knowledge and skills. Home ConnectTM provides access to information on student's progress in reading, opening the door to family conversations that go beyond "What did you learn in school today?"

Home ConnectTM improves the school-to-home connection by allowing parents and students to login to a website and view their student's progress in Accelerated Reader. With Home ConnectTM, parents and students can view performance on reading quizzes and see the student's online bookshelf displaying book covers of their recently read books.

Besides viewing the website, parents, grandparents, or other caregivers can stay on top of student progress by receiving an email after each Reading Practice or Vocabulary practice quiz is taken in Accelerated Reader.
